Governance
While IFC developed and initially sponsored EPiHC, it operates as an independent and self-sustaining initiative with the following governance structure:
Secretariat
The EPiHC Secretariat administers the initiative. It promotes the Principles, organizes the process of becoming a signatory, and manages communications and publicity around EPiHC in accordance with the Governing Provisions. The Secretariat also addresses procedural inquiries and manages the process of reviewing the Principles and issuing proposed amendments. The Secretariat may establish an Advisory Board to help guide this process.
Governing Provisions
The EPiHC Governing Provisions are intended to facilitate the administration and implementation of the Principles. This document provides a description of the role of the Secretariat, the Advisory Board, and the Signatories.
Advisory Board
EPiHC’s Advisory Board has 14 members and its purpose is to advise the Secretariat on the administration and evolution of the principles, EPiHC’s roll-out and value-added activities. The Advisory Board will also provide input and suggestions to the Action Plan and its implementation. The members are representatives of existing signatories and specialists in the industry. A full list of members can be accessed below.
